MOOSE HUNTING SEASON

So the Moose is human afterall. Touched up today and didn't really get that much help at all, from a lacklustre and overworked pen. Octavio Dotel is due back in 2 weeks. I bet ya, should this mini-slump materialize into a panic alert this week, do not be surprised to see him rushing back.

I know the Giants are not a trading team, but an offer 'apparently' has been made for Sheffield, to play right in place of Moises Alou and they also want Phillip Hughes in a 3 team trade, that includes the Oakland A's with Bonds walking across the Bay to DH. We in turn get Jason Schmidt. I'm sure the deal is a lot more complex than that, as I have said before, I do not know how these things work.

Barry Zito is still the favorite to come to New York. Could they be talking this weekend??????

Jeter must be pretty sore to DH yet again. Andy Phillips is the odd man out in this scenario as Jason Giambi continues to see more 1st base action. Miguel Cairo, while no Jeter, is a worthy understudy. He gives the phrase "Jack of all trades" a new meaning.

What about young Kevin Thompson. His 1st major league home run, didn't "just get out", It left with a passport and suncream. It landed in San Juan, Puerto Rico. What a blast. We certainly have some decent players in the farm system. Are they now legitimate trade fodder for the Cash Man...??????

Anyway enough of that and always forever looking to tomorrow. It may seem like I'm wishing my life away, but in my eyes, unless you win 162 regular season games and sweep to the world series crown, (which will never happen), Things can only get better. Thats the beauty of sport..
